Bungie added shit, Halo 3 while my favorite Halo had a pretty simple story. Halo 2 was fantastic, it introduced a lot of shit. Halo 1 was simple, like bare bones simple but good regardless. Halo 4 had an amazing story that ACKNOWLEDGED the canon beyond the games rather than just ignore it like Bungie did. I see nothing wrong with the Chief talking, what's wrong with him actually interacting verbally with others when he needs to? The only person he constantly talks to is Cortana, he only speaks to others when he needs like superior officers and the like. Cortana clingy? She was going insane and then going to die. Cortana had emotions too, so my guess is that she didn't want to die and leave the only being she cares about. Halo 2 comes close but it was incomplete which is sad.I still say for me, there are only 3 stories in the Halo universe that define Halo. Halo Combat Evolved, Halo The Fall of Reach, and Halo First Strike.
