If it's something that's not wanted then the consumer base and critics will openly criticize it. If it becomes clear that a feature is not wanted after it's actually been used, then it makes no sense to include it in any follow up titles.

I never said that, and if you're implying that "EVERYBODY" is against the inclusion of the feature you're wrong. If anything most people seem to be upset that it's not being included. Mostly because of the fact that it's censorship and they don't want some localizer with delicate sensibilities to dictate what they can and can not enjoy though. It seems a lot of people were in the "I'm never going to use it, but that doesn't mean you should remove it for the ones who do" camp.
