Damn, it seems like you have never played custom games on Reach. Akin to this supposidly terrible game, Halo 4 had to be modded heavily to become enjoyable matchmaking wise.

Still more readable than the Forerunner Trilogy.

Halo 4 became enjoyable after 343 stripped it back
Reach became playable after 343 patched it

That's matchmaking. Reach was fun custom games wise. Halo 4 required mods to make it halfway interesting. A nice example would be the flood mode.


Also, what were you doing on reach that made it unplayable?

You must have struggled if you've only stumbled across armor lock and campaign. I was hindered by the former quite a bit, but not enough to say that its entirety was horrible and broken.
