Complete trash. It was advertised in interviews as the complete book animated. I bought it so that way my friend could see it since he never read The Fall of Reach. So fucking disappointing it stops half way through the book when sam sacrafices himself. What the fuck 343? First you ship Halo 5 as a bare bones game and now this?

Yeah, glad I did not spend the extra money for it and just found it on youtube. I was almost going to buy the Blu Ray because I thought it would be amazing. And I can't stand the use of Halo 4/5 assets for Covenant and everything else that happened pre Halo 4 in other media besides games.

It's just like... John's in an empty gym, then some ODSTs arrive for the sole purpose of being douchewads, and John beats them up.

Plus they didn't come up to John and beat him the moment they saw him, also he was confronted by 4 ODSTs, one of them being the sergeant (I think he was an ODST) and asking John to go on the ring and facing the remaining 5 ODSTs, and finally all of them were not dead, only two were dead and the rest injured

Sounds like 343 was making all this build up for halo 5, and it all ended up inconsistent with each other

Can people actually be knowledgeable of the source material before they make a product now please? Or at least be consistent with similar projects that are coming out alongside them a.k.a "hunt the truth"?

iirc the fight happened because John took the pin out of a barbell to test the gravity of the ship or something, and the ODSTs came in to work out. So, when the weights fell off while using it the ODSTs get pissed at John and some officer tells them to go in the ring if they're going to fight.

It is still canon and I would consider that the original direction they were going in before things changed. I think they realized if they committed to the Hunt the Truth like sections they would alienate a large portion of their fanbase. Hunt the Truth is one of the better things in the modern day era that 343 has done. Along with Hunters in the Dark and Hunt the Truth the setup for Guardians was great but 343 shat the bed in regards to Guardian's story.
