Nah, I love games like New Vegas and Breath of the Wild since they have lots of variety, fun characters and stuff to find. Elden Ring just feels tedious and not at all enticing to explore. Souls was awesome because it was more of a structured yet branching world that nudged you along the way with a gradual difficulty curve and lots of cool stuff to find along the way. Elden Ring just feels like a bunch of bullshit that isn't fun at all to experience. And I say this as someone who LOVES Souls. It sucks to see.

Every encounter/dungeon feels like Souls to me. Things are just more spread out.

Ye and I hate it being so spread out lol. Just doesn't jive with me at all, I don't wanna have to go out of my way for 6 hours to find a new estus flask or a stone to make my sword a bit better. I went right back to good old Souls and immediately had a way better time.

Yeah I'm more of a casual gamer and I enjoy games where I have to search for things. Especially if there are lots of hidden things to find.

My ultimate game would be a game similar to Souls but filled with secrets, some simple and some extremely complex and difficult to find. There would be even more secret content than any of the actual main obvious content in the game. Elden ring gets closer to that than anything I've played in a long time.

Everyone has their preferences I guess.

As someone that never gave a fuck about any of the From Software games, I am enjoying the hell out of Elden Ring.

I've never played them and had no idea From Software made the series until right now when I googled it. The only game series under Bandai Namco I've played extensively is Ace Combat.

Playing on PS4.

I’m finding it the most satisfying to play (not necessarily the best) because it’s a lot easier to just do something else when you get stuck on a boss than in the other games.

I usually find the lore interesting in these games, but this one is just incomprehensible to me.

Okay the comet azur spell really is virtually broken in pve. Especially if you have a summon to distract. I killed Morgott in like 30 seconds. Had a way tougher time with his lesser form Margit.

I really dislike how Torrent doesn’t scale and level up with you. He’s got less health than Halo Infinite vehicles in the later game areas.

I guarantee Torrent could 100% solo an army of Halo Infinite Hornets.
But yeah it's odd how he doesn't scale even though the game is perfectly fine letting you upgrade the spirit summons.

I also wish they handled fall damage better particularly on torrent. Like you can reverse all the downward momentum of a fifty meter fall with a double jump and not die by doing that but the five additional feet down after doing that suddenly kills you. Or how you can land on a slop at non lethal height and be fine but when you get to the bottom of the slope it suddenly insta kills you.
