Is Dragon Age any good?

I've been kind of interested in Dragon Age: Inquisition but I don't know if it's the game for me. I don't mind fantasy RPG's I've played a crap ton of The Elder Scrolls & Dragon's Dogma but Dragon Age seems different. I really want to get into Dragon Age because it looks like story wise it's really good. I've got Dragon Age: Origins on Xbox 360 and I've played the first hour and a half basically the Grey Warden guy has taken me to that town after the tutorial I guess. The problem is I don't really enjoy the combat that much, apparently it get's better according to all the reviews I've read but I don't know. Does it get any better? Is it worth going through the previous 2 games? Or should I just skip them and go straight for the third one? I want help and opinions here people.

EDIT: Got rid of the part where I said I thought it played like a hack 'n slash game. You buncha bitches.

If you have it, play it.
DA:O is a pretty good game, it's slow and can be really tedious, but you'll enjoy the lore and that set you up for Inquisition which looks like it'll be amazing.

Get off of the easiest difficulty.

And yes, expect to think tactically and micromanage your party in combat later on.

I thought DA:O was abysmally slow and unenjoyable, but really liked DA2 so I guess my opinion sucks and shouldn't be heeded.

I Felt origins was too slow but didn't like the little bit of 2 that I played because it wasn't tactile enough, but Inquisition is allegedly a perfect middle ground
