Is Destiny as amazing as the soundtrack and pics make it look?

I bought the first game, and although I barely remember a thing, I know that what made the game suck was the fact that there was only one mission. Go to this place, and defend against the horde.

Since then expansions and other games have come out, in which I reckon they've fixed the game so that the missions are actually fun. If the missions are fun, and the environment and aura are there, then I'll definitely buy it

I went to the North Tower once when the time was just right and the lighting and music made me stop and just stare at the walls, and vines that followed the walls.

since TTK it's more of just a pathetic grind with artificial longevity and no real objective

Plus the Tower is small as fuck and there's nothing to do in the game after a while, you just play the same thing over and over. Not fun.

Bungie made a big show when they went independent from MS - just to sell their ass to an even worse overlord Moneyvision.

They should have went full indie. Destiny did not have a chance with $$$$vision running the show. Sure the game looks great, but it has no soul. I pity those who bought it for full price.

I thought it was incredibly disappointing and not at all memorable.

...That could be because he composed it, but never got to sculpt it so that it would fit the exact gameplay / scene since he only had access to early concepts.

...Which means it really isn't amazing at all, but just kinda bland and forgettable?

No the music was great still. In fact it overshadowed the actualy gameplay at points. The final boss stands out particularly.
