I don't you can do BXR in Halo 5. I did notice that in a frantic situation I kept changing my mind over what I wanted to do and think I accidentally pressed BXR. So really, you get the medal for performing a trick that isn't in the game. More of a homage to Halo 2. Same with the Combat Evolved medal to Halo CE.

From what I read it's just getting a headshot that kills an opponent after striking them with a melee.

I'd rather have BXR than Quad shotting.. At least BXR is plausible for a Spartan, while breaking the laws of physics and making your gun shoot unnaturally.
