Can you make a Star Wars game? Engine refresh of games has been around since the 80's and some have become very successful. Games like Black Mesa did it with Half Life and Renegade X rebuilt Command and Conquer in the Unreal Engine 3. This is a full conversion refresh, that being said you will have to own a copy of the orginal game in order to play Apeiron since we are using the orginal audio and music. At it's core Apeiron is the most intense KotOR modification ever.

Honestly, I don't know if this explanation will be enough to prevent it from being shut down.

EA will shut it down, since they are assholes.

Almighty Gaben lets us have the power of Black Mesa and so much more. Hell, why is Garry's Mod even allowed to be a thing? It's build shit with Valve games the game.

As far as I see, EA doesn't really care either way. So if they shut it down they won't care. The chances they will allow this or actually work on a remake for KOTOR are slim. Any hate they get will just bounce off their dense heads.

What copyrighted product are they distributing? You would have to already own the game in order to run this.

Yep, it's considered a mod despite being a complete overhaul because it still uses some core game files (and I imagine they avoid some legal issues by requiring the player to own the game).
