TLOU wasnt even in the top 10 best games the year it was released, which was a pretty weak year in the first place.
KOTOR 2
I like when people say the gameplay isn't unique so that's why they don't like itUnless you're playing fucking octodad no games gameplay is unique Literally my only complaint about the game is the fact that Ellie could fucking stitch up Joel when he was impaled.

I don't even know why you would bring that up, though, as I didn't say anywhere in my post that TLOU's best quality is the narrative. The acting is superb, however. By both video game standards and film.As for the gameplay, the mechanics are fairly average, not the gameplay itself. Two different things.Quote It seems you're drinking the kool-aid though so that's likely why people aren't bothering to debate with you. Especially in a single player heavy game.To me TLOU is nothing more than a formulaic zombie story with rather average gameplay.

That would have been great for a survival based game.
TLOU is uninspired, poorly-realized trash for the casual generation.
TLOU is a terrible game and if you consider it one of the "best" of anything you should probably kill yourself.

the way i see it is, you can argue about TLOU being good or not all you want. ill grant that the ability to enjoy a game is subjective and everyone has different tastes. but, at the same time, can you really, in good faith, place TLOU on a list of all-time greats? it wasnt anywhere near the best game of its year. only a few 2013 games can begin to claim "all time" status: guacamelee, DOTA 2, and hotline miami.
game wise, it's a terrible game, clunky controls coupled with boring combat mechanics and a game wide escort mission makes it a bad game.the story on the other hand is great, and engaging, with characters you can feel are alive, and you can remember.

Solid game. I have two platinums from it. Grounded was a bitch!
The last good Naughty Dog game was Uncharted 2
I'm tired of zombie games, and while I enjoy a good story in video games, the whole advertising campaign gave me the impression that it the gameplay was shallow for it. That's wrong, I know now, but by the time I figured it out I lost all interest in it. Naughty Dog re-releasing the game in less than a year as a "remaster" that doesn't even include all the DLC made me avoid it at all costs. I despise those business practices.
