Jacob Potila was actually a Jacob Flotilla of lies.- WarTurkey
Few things I've noticed that I tend to do in videogames whenever I play them:

If I see an obviously deadly looking forcefield,  naturally have to run straight into it to test if I will actually die.
If there's a red barrel, I must shoot it on sight, regardless of anybody standing nearby.
Am I able to survive the fall from this plane? Guess I'd better jump out and see!

Do any of you guys do stuff like this?

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
If there are crafting elements, i hoard everything craftable until i find out what theyre for

I constantly (vigorously, and for hours on end) try to leave the map even though, I know that 90% of the time it won't be possible, and 9% there's nothing there to see.

If you know, you know.
I don't know if this counts, but frequently I leave the game sit on the main menu screen to see if there are any secret trailers or demos. Same for the credits.
I also check if friendly fire in on by shooting my allies in the face.

Fun fact: The time it takes to web swing to the top of the ESB in every Spider-man game is directly tied to the quality of said game, with worse games taking longer to reach the top.

Whenever a game poses a question with an obvious answer, I always go with the wrong answer on purpose. The most hilarious one from my memory was when Morpheus asks you which pill to take in the Matrix video game. If you take the blue pill the game just ends, lmao.

Pokemon is really bad for this stuff though. "Will you go capture every Pokemon in the region?" "No? Oh, come on, don't be like that. Now, will you go capture every Pokemon in the region?"

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
When you're playing an FPS and you're just a floating gun and arms. I hate when I can't see my character's legs when I aim down.

every game with a glide, I HAVE to fly off the highest thing I see as far as I can go, no matter how much of a pain it is to get up to said thing, or how far I actually make it.

I ALWAYS look down at my feet in FPSs, just to see how little of a model I get as the PC

I'm also a Megalixir hoarder, I WILL NOT use those valuable healing items until i'm at the secret super boss' final phase before I end the game completely.

I never spend money on anything no matter how much easier it would make doing things or how much I already have, because I'm more focused on filling my coffers than getting cool loot.

I rarely buy any items from shops in RPGs because I figure that I need to get good enough to not need anything.

I always try to have a certain amount of items just in case something happens where I can't use curative magic. Usually there's ways to exploit getting money early on in the game anyways though.

I hold onto a lot of ammo thinking I'll need it, most recent example is I'm always maxed out on missiles in Metroid Samus Returns, think I'll use it on the bosses and then just use the ice beam

From FF6 onwards I've started making sure I have at least 20 of everything.

You take more precautions than I do. I keep about ten of everything until I exploit money making methods and buy 99 of everything.

From FF6 onwards I've started making sure I have at least 20 of everything.

The only reason I take 20 is because I usually have more than ten, and have to round it up to the nearest even number so why not twenty

For a long time in Halo I would never fire my gun and just melee everything to save ammo.
I have no idea what I was saving it for.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
I used to do a lot on CoD;

-Testing fences in various areas to see if I can jump over them or if it's an invisible wall (some edge of map areas are trolly and you can just jump off a cliff and die).

-Picking two variants of the same gun so I can carry double-ammo and only use the good one (e.g. M1 Garand + M1 Garand w/ bayonet or w/ launchers for 240-sumthing rounds, M4A1 + M4A1 Holographic/RedDot/SOPMOD/Grenade Launcher for 320 rounds).

-Killing the unnamed NPC teammates for extra ammo of my favourite gun (M1 Garand, PPSh). It turns out in Ring of Steel for CoD W@W, if you just hide a bit back while the NPC's attack each other across a street, they will respawn endlessly allowing you to just farm them for PPSH ammo (which you get barely any of at the start and usually have to drop it).

-Since MW2 I have to test how sniper rifles work because they started alternating between doing nothing to quickscoping, or adding some bullshit dispersion mechanic where if you fire too quickly after aiming the bullet goes off in a random direction. Black Ops is the worst as they kept changing the delay time which would mess up my aim even if I wasn't trying to do it.

-Cooking grenades to suicide to find out the cooking time and make DIY impact grenades.

-Learning what the lunge distances for the knife and the shotgun kill-shot ranges as the games changed. I have to do this in EVERY game with shotguns as they all have different ranges. I'm looking at you, GearsofWar/Halo/Battlefield/Borderlands/Metro/Fallout.

the one true God is Doctor Doom and we should all be worshiping him.

I have no idea what I was saving it for.

I once played with a guy who only used melee because "only cowards fight with weapons".

That's somewhat admirable even if he didn't get many kills.

I have a habit of testing out when I can and can't shoot my gun

-Am I able to interrupt my reload by shooting?
-Am I able to interrupt my sprint by shooting?

Ammo gets wasted this way.
