they werent the only people to do those things and they wont be the last. they were just another group of people trying to make money off of other people's work. and about the fan boys, you will all be back one day. not cause the game is great but because it has the CASUAL following again. hard core means hard core. keep moving on to games like fortnite and see how much depth you can find doing the same thing over and over, dying again and again, having to collect the same loot over and over again...wait that is destiny...but with no lore.

we both can agree that the destiny 2 is a flop but to think that the game is made for casuals is a farce. it is lacking on what made destiny great because the people who had the vision to make destiny are gone. it wasn't made for casuals. it wasn't made for anybody, but bungie trying to fulfill their end of a contract. What makes a game for casuals is the community that builds the following that gets the attention of the people you would consider casuals. people that came in year 2, people that came in year 3. Being addicted to A game makes you a casual. Playing only ONE game makes you a casual. I am a gamer bro, a hard core gamer. How much time i put in destiny doesn't make me a core or hard core gamer but how much gaming i do all together. And believe it or not doing the same thing over and over and again is part of being a gamer.

Planet destiny was a founding community member crucial to the first games success with massive breakdowns and in depth analysis.
Feels like the end of an era. I reminisce about playing the Destiny 1 beta...how far we are from those heady days.

this is sad indeed. I would never have found that last Siva fragment without them or those ghosts etc. etc. My KD would still be 1.0 without their meta busters.
When they closed their gates it was another nail in the coffin for Bungie. If there had been any hope that the updates would revitalise the game then PD would stick around for them. Instead they have closed up shop resigned to the fact that nothing is bringing this sorry lump back from the mess that LS and MN made of it.
Unlike the Division, where the devs have had a long standing weekly state of the game stream going and have stood in front of the rocks thrown by an initially angry community, Bungie have simply hidden in the back of a dark room occasionally coming out to try to sell us more DLC crap. What's worse is that they will almost certainly be out in force with their hype train trying to sell us D3 by this time next year!

With the removal of random rolls, there is just nothing for anyone in general to talk about. Let alone have a YouTube channel. In D1 you could go on between the endless possibilities of scope x perkA x perkB x perkC. In D2...... there is just nothing to talk about.
I honestly don't get the removal of random rolls. I believed Luke Smith once said something about Bungie being quicker with nerfs and buffs when certain weapons were to good or too weak.
Do you believe it? Uriel's Gift has been a powerhouse for the last 6 months, while other weapons are hardly touched at all. And at took 6 months to do something about it.
And having fixed rolls is a lot harder I feel. You have to come up with gun names, designs, flavor texts and the fixed rolls. And does it help? Nope. Martyrs Make, Restoration VIII, Solemn Hymn, Galliard-42 and Medley-45 are essentially the same 600 RPM SUROS auto rifle. If they just made ONE of those with random rolls. It would mean A LOT more possibilities when it comes to roll outcomes, and you only have to design ONE gun. No need for reskins.
Same goes for 200 RPM Omolon scouts Manannan SR4, Pleiades Corrector and Eternal Blazon.
Same goes for 450 RPM Omolon auto rifles Uriel's Gift, The Number, Jiangshi AR4 and Positive Outlook.
Same goes for 720 RPM Veist auto rifles Hollow Earth, Perseverence and Valakadyn.
Same goes for 180 RPM SUROS scout rifles Tone Patrol, Tango-45, Metronome-52 and Adverse Possession.
I can go on and one.
Make of all of those archetypes ONE awesome looking gun with random rolls and there is something to do!

The people who have left Planet Destiny to make their own podcast, are slowly but surely moving away from focusing solely on Destiny, I think they released a podcast seperate from their main DCP. The last I know of it, they're in the middle of trying to figure out a name for it, but whatever it is they made an effort NOT to mention Destiny 2. LOL.
It 's sad to see this happening to what would have been a game with the greatest potential, but that's what happens when you make a AAA freemium game. It could have been so easy to have a free version of the game along side of the main Destiny 2 game if they really needed to include all they did to Destiny 2.
I enjoyed listening to the few podcasts I did listen to of theirs, but I'm still following "Destiny Reset", "DCP", and "Fireteam Chat". Even when I wasn't playing Destiny 2 (mid-December) I still enjoyed their podcasts enough to keep tuning in every week and listening to what they had to say about this game. I strongly suggest supporting these guys as they all do great work... and their shows are high quality on the content side and production. The relationships of these gamers are the biggest draw for me personally, their chemistry is entertaining and worth taking part in... especially DCP. (:

just another group of people trying to cash in on other people's work and move on when the money cant be made anymore. so they move on to fortnite, the next big thing, why? because it has such a casual following at the moment. are there great players? yes. people bitch and moan about not having a story in destiny, repeating the same thing over and over. and what do they do. go to a game that has no lore and repeat the same thing over and over. you can only land on that same island so many times before it gets old. is fortnite fun? sure. does it have anything that brings hard core gamers back. well after death you lose everything. so next time to drop in you have to go collect that gear again and again. Building is ok never been into minecraft so i dont get why building is so much fun. to me its cheesy, being able to use a building mechanic as a measure of skill. when we are playing a shooter.

I think Bungie are purposefully developing Destiny badly to activate some kind of get out clause in the contract with Activision, it's the only explaination for the way things are. Nothing else makes more sense

Either that or they really want to file for bankruptcy.

If money was no object for me, I would have bought Bungie way before they signed their agreement with Craptavision.

If anything I would have signed a deal with either Valve or Bethesda for Destiny, or hell, just create a publishing side called Bungie Publishing or something. Bungie was big enough to self publish. I say was because now they are a joke.

Like come on, $500 million? It had a whole community on its back, they could have self published Destiny.

Making Destiny 2 with all Destiny 1 systems still in place would almost certainly result in more money. But ah well I guess. There won't be any major changes until the September expansion. And I won't hold out hope for most players returning, but hey I could be wrong. I feel sad about it myself. But if the game becomes great in September, I'll buy it, why not? I won't buy anymore from them without waiting until after it's released though.
