I've been telling myself that I would use some of the money I received from family this holiday season and from work to put towards an Xbone and a few games, but as far as I know all of the games that I wanted to buy an Xbone for are shit.

I wanted Destiny after playing the beta, but Bungie obviously took a massive shit on their game

I was so excited for the MCC that I almost went to a midnight release to buy a day one copy, even though I didn't have a system to play it on, but I hear about all of the multiplayer issues and wonder if it's even worth it as well. Sure there's the Halo 5 beta but I can't see buying the game just for that.

CoD: Advanced Warfare is obviously just another CoD. I'll have fun but eventually get bored of it.

What other games are even out that could justify me dropping $400+ on a hobby that I have lost extreme interest for?

There are two reasons to buy any console:

1) Exclusives
2) Friends

If the console doesn't have any games you want or you don't strongly feel a need to play the games on it with friends, don't get one. They'll eventually become worth a purchase, but I don't feel they are now.

Just look for a good deal. I ended spending only $250 on mine.

If you can't find a reason to get the console, then be done with it and simply don't get it.

Plenty of great next-gen games out there that aren't exclusive, plenty of great exclusives already (SSO, Forza Horizon 2, MCC [most problems are now beginning to disappear, SP is flawless and online games are working now, customs are workable-and of course ODST is coming free],etc...), the ability to play with friends, the great exclusives that are coming in 2015, the fact that once this year is gone the last-gen consoles are practically dead and-this may not interest or perhaps it may annoy you-but it works FANTASTIC as an entertainment centre, especially with Kinect

MCC is still flawed. Could only find two team slayer matches playing splitscreen after waiting for at least half an hour of time searching. This is ridiculous...and people think it's fixed...

I don't know if you're aware of this, but Christmas just happened. That'll be a fuck ton of people not getting it for free.

So? Paid Dlc is fine, we paid with our trust and dedication (and money), is it too much to ask those late to pay something as well?
