I need some help setting up my streaming software

So I am trying to get a streaming setup ready. I have an Elgato GC and it's software, which it runs completely fine on, but I am not using it to stream. I am trying to use OBS, which would be awesome but it doesn't seem to work when actually trying to stream. When I start up preview stream or start streaming it shows the first frame with one moment please but just stays paused on it. The only time when it shows me game is when I stop the stream/preview and it shows the last frame before it ended. Anyone know how to solve this?

Sounds like either your internet hit it's bandwidth limit or your computer cannot handle the software. Can you provide pictures of the software you're using to stream for debugging purposes?

doesn't the xbone have twitch stream built in?

It does but it has pretty much no custom options.
