It's actually a mod pack...a HUGE mod pack.

It's called the Floris Mod pack, and it's 1.1 gigs of awesomeness so far. I'm going through the first parts of the mod pack and wow is it different.
Enhanced graphics, menus, gameplay and characters. It definitely shouldn't be played on an old computer.

Try it out though.

Well obviously the map is going to be lower res because of how fucking huge it is. Also, can't build your own castles in ACoK or Floris.

Yes, you can join someone else's army in 1257AD. The first thing I did after I got the mod was join the King of England's army and beat the shit out of some Welsh.

Mod options seemed pretty standard to me. No different than most other mods in that regard.

Okay, the menu is pretty ugly, I'll give you that, but that's incredibly minor.

It has the same questing system as vanilla Warband. It has a crusading system and peasant revolts instead. Aside from VC, ACoK is the only mod with any real questing system, and that's solely due to the universe it's set in. 1257AD is more about the large scale events that happen in the game world and geopolitics rather than player questing.

Weird, I tried joining a lot of different armies but it didn't work.

Other mods have different options (debug, battle map on with having to press shift, etc)

And it's not just the main menu, a lot if the menus aren't very good.

I conquered the entire middle east in a few hours so I didn't really get to experience it :/
