So, does this one take place in the same place as DS1? I remember firelink being a place in that game as well.
Your will revisit a certain area but it mostly it takes place in a different place that is quite close to the locale of DaS1. Like a neighbouring kingdom if you will.

Likewise for everything else, there are lore reasons as to why they are so near to each other.

The Firelink Shrine here is completely different from the one in DaS1.

Oh ok

Is there really any info on how lordran(I think that was DS1's place) and drangleic and (DS3 location) interacted with each other or whatever at their prime?
The way how DaS2 relates to 3 is really a headscratcher. As Miyazaki wasn't involved in its development, since he was working on Bloodborne, the story took a drastic deviation from 1. It's best to assume that DaS2 had almost no effect on the overarching lore of the series given the very, very few references to it in DaS3 and the convenient explanation that it's an alternate realm altogether provided by the intro cutscene of DaS2.

On the other hand references to 1 and are everywhere and even unavoidable in 3. More or less quick summary:
The flame is fading and needes undead with special souls to link it, like the protagonist of DaS1. But as time goes on less and less undead are fit to link the flame and as a desperate measure previous lords of cinders, those who have already given themselves to the flame, are awakened from the dead to act as fuel yet again. They refuse. So instead the Unkindled Ashes, the undead unfit to link the flame, are sendt out to inherit the cinders of the lords so they could link the flame again, somehow.
Lothric is in the center of all this as it's the link to of the first flame and graveyard of the Unkindled Ashes.

Hope this somehow helps - if you've got further questions or want to know about something precisely don't be afraid to ask.

So does your DS1 character appear as a boss at any point in the same way Sheogorath in Skyrim is technically the Hero of Kvatch from Oblivion? Because that would be sweet.

Oh, that's a shame. That'd be really cool, though I suppose it's understandable they don't want to mess with peoples' RPs.

When I get this powered USB hub for my external HDD I might try and get into DS1 again for like the fourth time. Idunno.

While that's true, the soul of Cinder is an amalgamation of every soul sacrificed to the flame but not literally the same character from DaS1.

I mean the example Bacon gave - Sheogorath - is literally the same character you played in Oblivion, only changed through the influence of being a Deadric Lord. That doesn't apply to the SoC. I guess I'm just caught up on technicalities.
@Bacon: Correction, yes he does in a certain way.

I thought the first half of twin princes was pretty difficult but the second half was a breeze. Pretty cool fight I put down my summon sign a lot there

I'm actually the complete opposite, ha. Lorian was easy as fuck but when Lothric got off his throne I found it got way more difficult.

I'm basically just farming now. I'm going through old areas trying to find the secret bosses you were talking about, lol.

There's a trophy for every weapon and every spell which the sunlight coven gives you some.

Equip your warrior of sunlight coven item (if you don't have it its in undead settlement)

Use your white soapstone outside of a boss door or near a bonfire and wait. You'll get summoned into somebody else's world and get to keep any souls you earn even if you die

Each time you beat a boss you'll get a sunlight medal

Give these to the sunlight alter that's in a small room right before you the dragon armor boss.

Iirc you get rewards at 10,20, and 30 sunlight medals

So I beat the game. Got the Link The Fire ending... whatever that means. Clocked in at 57:24:43.

Not sure what to do now. Probably going to have to find those two bosses I missed. Want to increase my faith so I can use this Lightning Sword spell.

You already beat Oceiros so...

Here are some hints.

You have to be careful with what is behind you, but maybe you should follow them down when you knock the path down....

The path is long and hard, but if you go to the right place and begin to follow it alongside another. You start the path of the [blank].

At what point should I start New Game+?

Can anyone recommend a good spot to farm Souls?
I'm quite late here but the very best spot to farm souls is killing the Golden Winged Knights on top of the archives using the pyromancy rapport and backstab chaining. Return to the Grand Archives bonfire after you've killed all three and repeat. If you don't have the pyromancy or the means to use it, kill the three scholars (the men with the wax on their head) in front of the big pool of wax repeatedly.
Alternatively, you can start from the lothric castle bonfire (after the dancer) and repeatedly kill the sword and shield wielding knight. While you have the choice to kill the other two knights, it will actually result in less souls per minute because of the time it takes you to walk towards and fight them. An added bonus is that the lothric knight has a relatively high drop chance for large titanite shards and titanite chunks.
At what point should I start New Game+?
After you've explored the remaining secret areas and killed their respective bosses and have spoken to the blacksmith after doing that.
