Infusions hurt the weapons more than they help. Some remove scaling entirely and the ones that do give scaling are still nothing to write home about and on top of that you cant buff infured weapons like you could in DS2. No more Crystal magic Poison Blue flame. actually I was talking about weapons like the dancers enchanted swords that split there damage into multiple types ( magic, physical, and fire in this case)The dancers swords (and other weapons that deal damage of multiple types) have to check the defense stats of EACH damage type it uses. This is why the dancers swords can look like they should do 400 damage but only hit for like 100Yeah, the Dancer's Blades blow ass.Does what I'm saying make sense?Theoretically the dancers blades should be way better than the twin swords you're using.Like if you just look at base damages(no upgrades or scalings), gothards are doing 100 physical damage and dancers are doing 79 physical, 62 fire, and 62 magic. That should be over double the damage. But the dancers swords not only have to check the same physical defenses as the other sword, but also the targets magic and fire resist. So they do pitiful damage. There's quite a few weapons in the game like this including a ton of the boss weapons. Why don't they patch that? Seems like a huge oversight.

Can someone in a non-autistic manner decipher what the hell Chaos is saying?
And hey, you know what CMB, I am going to sympathise with you here. I'll tell you how to work around hyperarmour and explain why it isn't a big deal at all.The first and most braindead way to deal with them is to just trade with another UG Weapon. If you have the hp, the stamina, the defense and the damage to trade in your favor then hack away. The second way is to outrange them; halberds, pikes, the lucerne, whips. Twohand any of these. You'll obviously have to space yourself out properly and time your attacks just right. The last and my favourite way is to get in their face with either a onehanded straight sword or a twohanded curved sword, roll through all of their slow, telegraphed swings by reaction and punish them when they have completely depleted their stamina with a combo of their own. If you encounter an at least half decent player he will roll away before his stamina is depleted. What do you do there? Mix things up. Fake sprint attacks, when in range attack before they swing or interrupt their swing before hyper armour begins. If all of that is not possible due to high latency then exploit it by utlising hit'n'run tactics with quick weapons; attack, dodgeroll out of range, get in range quickly, repeat.Really, the only big threat posed by UG Weapons is their high damage per hit which can easily avoided by rolling or spacing thanks to their ponderousness. Seriously, the attacks of UG Weapons are so slow that you can even land a Straight Sword R1 and then roll through their incoming attacks without being harmed. They are not difficult to fight against.
Thanks I'll remember that fro when I actually want to play a quality build that can wield those weapons effectively.
Quote from: BT-7274 on July 19, 2016, 08:23:18 AMThanks I'll remember that fro when I actually want to play a quality build that can wield those weapons effectively.IIRC you wanted to be a spellcaster.I don't know your exact stats but you should be able to use these tactics even if you're primarily a sorcerer considering I use a Chaos CCS and Gargoyle Flame Spear on my SL100 Pyromacer with 30/30 INT/FTH. Obviously I could maximise the damage by going quality but I don't want to since I like to stick with pyros and actually manage myself quite well despite this. Really, at the very most I need to land 4 more hits than the average quality Build which isn't that big of a deal, considering it translates to landing two addtional R1 combos.I've already devised a build for you, with which you can use all Straight Swords and all curved swords and still have heavy INT investment. I don't know whether Crystal Magic Weapon or a crystal infusion is better damage wise though.BuildAssuming your starting Class is sorcerer, this build is lvl 120VGR 38ATT 30 (you can switch them around if you're certain that you don't need hp for safety)VIT --STR 15DEX 20INT 60FTH --LCK --Maybe slap on a Darkmoon ring for 2 extra Spellslots and a Sage's Ring for faster casting. Bellowing Dragoncrest and Dusk Crown are also recommended. The Scholar's Candlestick sorcery strenghtening effect also triggers when you're below the FTH requirement.Obviously you don't have to stick to this to a tee since it's only a recommendation. Also check this out: YouTube
Oh and heres the other bullshit I have to deal withThe phantom rangehttp://xboxclips.com/ChaosMetalDrago/4a6694b3-99c3-41b5-8b52-0912a28c4851I literaly get hit mid roll by people not even making any sort of physical contact.

Level 186 iirc.
most people stop leveling @ 120 for pvp co op purposes So you have an actual build and you're not just amazing at everything with tons of health
And so ng+ isn't easy as shitI've also seen people level 800 before so you do you

It's not meant to beneficial and you can only play with people near your level

I don't think you get itIf the entire community stops leveling at 120 fight clubs can run nonstop (everyone is the same level so there's tons of matches) and people have unique buildsIf everyone just leveled nonstop every person in PvP would wear Havel armor + shield, weild the biggest greatsword and have every spell. At 120 you have to choose if you want a heavy strength build, a spell-sword build, a Mage build, a pyro build ect

Dumb as fuck. not really Some people want to be part of fight clubs with fair fights and unique builds. Shit you can still find fight clubs in dark souls 1 and 2.Some people don't give a fuck and want to max out every stat and become the ultimate badass. Hell there's even videos of people doing shit like literally one shotting pontiff. Having essentially no level cap has no downside. It lets every type of player do what they want.
Except it's not an oversight because you can just make a new character and spec it for PVP purposes.I'm only on the first game and even I understand this.
