How do you improve the dex scaling? I've used the strength gem to improve its strength scaling through infusing but i dont know if you can use multiple gems
You can only use one Gem on each individual weapon. Every new infusion will overwrite the previous.

The gems have the following effects:


  • Shriving Stone: Revert the weapon to orignal state after any infusion
  • Raw: Remove Scaling//Add Phys DMG
  • Refined: Increase DEX/STR Scaling moderately//Lower innate base DMG
  • Sharp: Sharply increase DEX scaling//Lower innate base DMG
  • Heavy: Heavily increase STR scaling//Lower innate base DMG
  • Fire: Remove scaling//Lower innate base DMG//Add additional fire DMG
  • Chaos: Lower STR/DEX scaling//Lower innate base DMG//Add fire DMG scaling with INT/FTH
  • Deep: Remove scaling//Lower innate base DMG//Add additional dark DMG
  • Dark: Lower STR/DEX scaling//Lower innate base DMG//Add dark DMG scaling with INT/FTH

Polite people don't point towards others with their fingers. Same goes for chests.

I don't play online so a lot of the hints aren't there.
My hint won't require any online help, though.

Further tips
Mimics have to breathe for time to time, so they open the lid from time to time
You can throw Hunter charms at them and render them harmless

Depends on your stats, but really it doesn't matter that much for PvE. Minmaxing only starts to be relatively important when you PvP. To answer to you: If your DEX & STR are moderately high (20-25+) then yeah it probably pays out.

Also, their chain is straight, while a normal chest has a curved chain.

no, but there's a meta for pvp where people tend to stop (150 iirc)

Actually there's technically a level cap, where all stats are 99.

Sadly dark souls 3 doesn't have as much replayability as past titles. Dark souls 1 and 2 have new equipment and enemies in NG+
Bloodborne has procedurally generated chalice dungeons with tons of bosses.
Dark souls 3 just makes it harder

not only can you keep playing, you'll definitely want to. I'm sure you'll miss a boss or 2 along the way that you'll want to go back and kill.

Doubtful. Haven't missed a boss yet. (Yes, I beat the Old Demon King today.)

I tend to do explore every nook and cranny before it is absolutely necessary to fight a boss. That way I don't miss anything.

Update for the day:

Fully completed the Smouldering Lake, killing the Old Demon King.

Defeated Dancer of the Boreal Valley.

Progressed through Lothric Castle as far I could without facing a boss. Oceanius (I believe his name is), and the Dragonslayer Armour are the two bosses next on my list. Oceanius first because I'm pretty sure that the Faraam armour is real close to being unlocked for me, and DA is an optional boss so I doubt he'll lead me to anything.

I was watching my brother play (he's a bit further behind than I am), and he managed to kill Sullyvahn and progress to the next boss on that path (don't remember his name, something God Devourer). I gave this new boss a try for him, and I don't think it should take me more than a few tries once I progress to that point.

I'm dread having to fight Sullyvahn because he's annoying and requires precise timing for dodges as a melee character. Not an easy task playing on my 60ms input lag tv.

I fully upgraded my Lothric Sword and now it does bare damage. I bought the Dancer blades but they suck balls. I've used a lot of upgrade mats trying to make them better, but... to no avail.

Currently at level 72, main focus is on strength, dexterity and stamina.

Oceanius actually talks, which is cool. Feel like no one ever does that in this game.

The game has become far more linear than it was as the beginning, which is... eh.

There are a shit ton of bonfires and most of them are really close to each other. It doesn't really make sense to me... why have a bonfire at the bottom of a staircase and then one at the top of said staircase, and then another one 50 feet to the right of THAT one. Instead of putting bonfires in meaningful places, like say, infront of tbe Dragonslayer Armour boss or the courtyard in the King's Courtyard, we have to have 3 closesly knit bonfires that really do nothing for anyone. If you say this would make the game easier, you're a moron. It would just make it less tedious. It doesn't even affect the difficulty at all, and if anything, it makes the game marginally easier to have that many albeit close together.

NG+ and NG++ change generic soul drops you can find to make them more useful. For example corpses that had 'Soul of an unknown traveller' in your first playthrough may have 'Soul of a proud Paladin' in NG+.
Additionally NG+ and NG++ have exclusive ring items scattered around the environment. These additional, upgraded rings are placed individually and don't reuse the positions of items you previously found. This means that you can find loot places which were vacant in the first playthrough.

All consumeables are kept, including boss souls, arrows, bolts, etc.
All weapons, armour, rings and spells are kept.
Covenant ranks will be kept.
Hollowing status remains.
All key items will be lost.
All merchant upgrades will be lost; you will have to find coals for the blacksmith, ashes for the handmaid, scrolls for the sorcerer, etc.
Kind of a secret since you haven't found it yet
You can trade with the crow on top of the shrine again.

Funny how he is wrong in his assumption how the DA is optional and Faraam armour being close to Oceiros.

Though he will probably look it up if doesn't, how long will he take to A) Realise he can use the Path of the Dragon gesture to get in the optional area and B) Hit the wall after Oceiros boss room.

Thb, B was spoiled for me because I was watching a playthrough of someone after I completed mine. Never knew about the area. Funnily enough, I figured out A almost immediately.

I read somehere the reason why some bonfires are weirdly close to each other is because
A) they originally didn't intend for each boss to create a bonfire upon death.
B) they wanted a "create your own bonfire" mechanic that they ditched partway through and just threw some bonfires In to compensate


Also  I know there's 2 bosses that you just flat out will not find unless you look it up

Oceiros defeated on my first try 👍
Good way to start the game sesh.
He was the most interesting boss so far, from a story perspective. Looking forward to learning more about this Ocelotte character.

Unless you want to get drop-kicked more I'd summon the sword master to take off some of the heat. Champion Gundyr is one of the toughest fights in the game IMO.

summoning increases the boss health a bit (30% iirc)

The master is really helpful tho

I'm actually not having that much difficulty with him. I managed to get him down to a third of health on my first try, but I had 80K souls that I wanted to use so I just traveled back to the shrine with a Homeward Bone.
