...I miss playing Destiny.

Or rather, playing Destiny with my friends.

I hopped on yesterday to see the update. As I was looking through the tower, I thought to myself:

"This doesn't appeal to me. I feel nothing."

But then Tyger joined my party and Fireteam, along with some of my older buddies. And immediately, I wanted to play. It was almost nostalgic, honestly. They've made a lot of good changes but really, I don't care about that. I care about playing a social game with my friends.

I won't allow myself to buy TTK until the price drops (I'm hoping for a sale around Christmas), but I just gotta get it off my chest that I really miss having a game to play with my friends.

Does anyone else feel like this?

Honestly, Destiny looks okay now that it's out of beta.

There was this amazing World of Warcraft private server back in the day which I loved. It was pretty generic in it's map layout and design, in that regard there wasn't anything to set it apart from the other private servers but the community man, oh boy it was beautiful man it's such shame it shut down it actually made me upset.

Contrary to popular belief, I like games that aren't Metal Gear. Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Crash Bandicoot, TLOU, etc.

But usually for 1 or 3 reasons:

1. The game is more art than a game (I.E. Metal Gear is more a piece of art than a game)
2. Nostalgia (I played the game as a kid, and can't look at it objectively)
3. Social exposure (simply playing with friends)

Yeah man. Playing with friends can make the experience so much more memorable. For example, I've put a shit ton of hours into the Arkham Origins multiplayer because my friends and I would just hop on together. It was awful but sooo fun, y'know?

Meh, the gameplay is a sufficient amount of fun for me. It's nothing special. Like I said the only reason I want it is for playing with my friends.

I'm not gonna get it anytime in the foreseeable future, though. There's other games I'd much rather play.

Realistically I see myself getting it at Christmas.

There aren't many games I'm looking forward to. There's the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Halo 5, and Mankind Divided. Everything else IIRC doesn't interest me.

It was one of Sony's PS2 mascots.

An excellent platformer. The series suffers from an identity crisis in the sequels, but I mean, Naughty Dog just makes excellent games even when they're at a disadvantage.

There's a collection on the PS3 if that's an option for you. The difference is negligible, though. They both run at the same frame rate and the resolution isn't anything to write home about.

So yeah, the PS2 versions are the definitive versions, IMO.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy [PS2] - $11.99

Very light-hearted, open-world platformer. Lovable characters, simple plot, rewarding and engaging gameplay. Art style is brilliant. Similar to Crash Bandicoot, Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Spyro the Dragon.

Jak II [PS2] - $19.99

T rating this time. Open-world city with various art styles depending on disctric. Focuses on gun and vehicle play instead of platforming (platforming is still present, just downplayed.) Much more story-focused. Think Conkur's Bad Fur Day, Grand Theft Auto, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank.

Jak 3 [PS2] - $12.95

Focuses more heavily on vehicle play, doubles content with two huge open worlds to roam. Engaging storyline that wraps up nicely. Basically the same influences as Jak II, but adds to it.

Corny action games are great.

I can't see you enjoying Uncharted. Maybe 4, if they improve and learn from TLOU. But the original 3 were pretty bad in comparison to how much the community dickrides them.
