10 years ago I thought Star Fox was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Played that shit on the 64 every day and had the greatest time checking out the backstory and discovering levels I hadn't played.

Since taking up Melee I have come to have the most vile hatred of those cancerous piece of shit "I have 90 desireable options for every situation" cunt fuck Space Animals. I've never even won a game against those fun-sucking vampires and I'm 100% sure it's entirely down to their absurdly free neutral/combo/gimp game on the rest of the cast. It might seem hypocritical coming from a Sheik main but I lose sleep over this bullshit man. Maybe if I wasn't playing PAL and could actually get more than 1 hit off per win in neutral I'd be on even ground and get some Ws I actually deserve, but I always manage to get cheesed by 1 bad read and boom. I've died off the top at 40%, been ledge hogged at 20 or shined off the stage at 0. No matter how much I put in to grinding movement, analysis and in game mindset, Fox/Falcos always find some brain dead cheese-ass bullshit to throw at me when they're down.

You'd think after 18 consecutive months of adapting and hard work I'd see some progress but nope. Every time I think I have an answer to them I get cheesed hard and I have to wonder if they even want to play the game or just find new ways for their free characters to get free kills. Still going 0-2 in bracket at locals and now I've fucked my hands. I'm getting bracing for them next week and now I'll have to wait for a Sheik-specific B0XX to be able to play, and I'll be even further behind because my muscle memory is going to be useless. Seriously, fuck Spacies. (Not a copypasta).

Fuck it Imma just get good at 0-deaths in 64 so I can hate on Pikas, Kirby and Yoshi instead

PPU vs Hugs was so fucking butt-clenching man

So I'm the first person to finally take a set off Bloodcross. He mentioned he actually loved playing Falco and wanted to train it up to be one of his tournament characters, and he clearly put in work. I didn't attend last week and he only dropped one game I think. It was as hard to fight as his Zard and Fox is tbh, it's already stupid good due to him being an excellent player.

I play kinda sloppy and what not, it was my first weekly in over a month, but I end up playing really well in our first set and last set.

I win in winner's finals 3-2, lose set 1 in grands 3-0 (I played like ASS LMAO), then lose 3-2 in set 2. Super close.

I flubbed a lot of things but it's all good. I also recorded several of our matches (he skipped through before I could save like 2 of my wins riiiiip). Here's some footage for you folks.

I started really liking the red skin, still use black typically but red is my 2nd most used one.

I dig it.

Skin and tag counterpicks are just as influential as changing the whole character altogether.

BAM9 coming up this week. I might miss my Melee pool for singles, leaving only doubles (if I find a partner) and Smash 64.

Depending on how my hand diagnosis goes today, I might pick up a bit of SSB4 again, if only to learn and spam that Ftilt/Dtilt > Fair > Needles > Bouncing fish 0-death string.

I got destroyed by James in my first set and then met Yoyo in losers. Dude is a beast and 5 stocked me first game, but game 2 was hella close. I picked up some ways to gimp his falcon and got him to last stock. I saw a couple of Boom's sets/friendlies too, that man is the fucking truth.

I think people are too overdramatic over mang0's ability to perform just because he has these slumps. He's always been the one to take out Armada save for Hbox at EVO last year.
