I'm registering for City of Melee 5. Probs gonna get bodied again but I'll link the stream on the day just in case anyway. There's this one Roy main who always attends and uses the massive Keyboard controller. Hope I get to play him because he's really good and I want to do a low tier battle.
Hope you make it far.

Meta Knight also gives me some issues since I'm unfamiliar with him, and I always try to punish unpunishable things. Bayo is stressful as fuck, and I fought the best player in tally who uses bayo in top 16. Took him to game 3, but I did a shit ton of grabs, because otherwise I was getting witch timed. How do you deal with Corrins? I find myself getting caught by the side-B whenever I try to jump or do anything out of shield and dying to tippers at 20%. I can combo them for days as Sheik but that just gives them free rage with few assured kill setups. That Up-B hitbox is impossible to edgeguard and you're at KO% all the time thanks to the presence of that awful counter.

Well firstly Fox completely negates Corrin's neutral b. For me firstly it's racking up damage, so I fight corrin like any other sword character. It's mainly a bait and punish sort of deal, if I'm not punishing then I'm staying just out of their range. I don't try edgeguarding corrin once they do their recovery move, otherwise I'll get stage spiked. But Fox is bullshit so if I get them positioned for it, I'll go for a fast fall fair footstool and take their stock real quick.A few tips on that counter: positioning. If they are on the top platform of battlefield, if a counter were to hit you....will it kill you? Then go for a grab. Same with juggling, if I overextend one upair they can slip that counter in and kill me. Stay aware of corrin's fsmash range. When they do side b I tend to instead of contesting the attack, catch their landing once they pick a direction to go to.

Sheik has the speed to bait and punish a LOT of characters
I got 9th at ECC AND Coffee Boyz 8. holy fuck I'm cursed. Was relying on the coffee shop the tourney is at to be open like it always is to give me a good pick-me-up, but this was the first time it was ever closed during a tourney : ((((((((((((((My first set of the tourney was ass, was very nervous, then after that I was solid. At both of these tourneys I've been eliminated by either the #1 tally player, or their #2 ranked player. Fuck my shit up fam.
Never forget
was that godlike sdi or a glitch?

Tips on going to a tournament? Not going to one, but just asking.

I normally try to introduce myself to as many people as possible. If the TO is acting like a jerk, don't worry they're just doing their job to keep things moving. Tourney nerves will become a big factor, and the only way to get rid of them is to expose yourself to it as often as possible.
