Well, provided we actually meet in bracket. Which is slim since this is a very stacked Florida tournament, I could very easily fight Nick Riddle or someone else. Or buster hard and not do well at all.

But I think I've found my consistency finally. Weeklies really helped by making me play my best on demand or deal with loser's bracket. This last weekly I was put in losers by our Cloud player only cuz I SD'd, but I definitely had the final game solid. Won with a grand finals reset (for the 2nd time) so it's k.

Hard to deal with a local/online Rosalina? For a while I knew Sheik was the best in the game (pre-patch) but she was so fast I couldn't control her and moves like Bouncing Fish felt really unintuitive. It took me playing Melee for a few months and not playing a character with a Sword/items to be able to get comfortable lmao.

I think the Link vs Rosa matchup is easily the hardest counter of any 2 characters in the entire series and watching Dabuz play gets me salty af because of all the cheap looking shit he does with Luma. But tbh I don't see her as annoying. There's a Rosalina in my local scene (he actually introduced me to it) who I couldn't beat until a few months ago. I beat him the day I picked up Sheik (after getting bodied a fair bit by a little mac as learning what Sheik's kit is).

Tbh I think Rob is the most annoying and cheapest tank in the game. Now those niggas give me some trouble and literally everything kills.

I also got Melee and PM netplay up and running so I'll be able to have friendlies on even more setups :^). I wanna try and get 64 netplay too.

There's a good rob in my region, he got bodied by Saj's bayo but he just bodied everyone else.

2 Melee singles brackets were run last night, went 0-2 in both of them (again) but I feel like I'm starting to get better as a player. Instead of trying to counterpick everybody I've been sticking to Falcon/Sheik to learn Neutral game and stage control better. I think I'll keep getting bodied for 3-4 weeks but after maybe 2 months I can see myself catching up to the top players again. My movement is looking so much better now. Still a fair bit of spaghetti but I'm not dropping anywhere near as many wavedashes, SHFFLs and L-cancels as before. Even landed a few double Knees as well as some silly shit. Won a doubles friendly with a warlock punch lmao.

The scene has really come a long way since the start of the year and I can see all of us going reasonably far in Bracket at BAM9 if any of us decide to go next year. Everybody has made some crazy improvements since we first started running Melee.

We've started videoing a few matches with our phones and will hopefully get a capture card/stream setup soon. The phone cut out 5 seconds before the second grand finals finished. It was so disappointing because it was won with an offstage Falco Shine > Dair and everybody went nuts for it.

Tech flubs in pivotal moments fucked me over when I could've won both sets almost comfortably based on how well I was playing overall. I was very aware of myself during the games and keeping track of my approaches, so I could mix it up when I was sure they were catching on.
