Why?I actually like using the gamepad, the only problem I have is the shield/grab thing. But apparently that can be changed.

I think it's actually tournament illegal to use anything else other than the GameCube controller. Not sure. CK can confirm that.

Nintendo 3DS, 2DS, or WiiU gamepad are not allowed. Pro Controller as well as GameCube controllers are allowed for Smash Bros. for WiiU.
From what I'm hearing, the Pro controller isn't half bad.
Pro controller is allowed, however.

What's the general concensus on their wuality? Are they a viable option, or is the GC controller still recommended?
What region are you in? There could be some weekly tournaments in your area.
Anyways, Rocket, I tried out the Y button for jumping -- holy hell. Once I get used to it, it's going to change my game completely.
Like right now, I just wanna get good at Smash so I can compete with you guys and my friends (though you guys are waaaay better than my IRL amigos).It all depends on how much I improve over the next couple of months.
I don't play with people on Smash regularly so I'm always up for it.
