and tbh, I don't get why Gen IV gets so much hate. I'm playing Platinum right now and having a blast. Really good towns and really good music. Pokemon themselves are kinda meh, but that's no big deal

Generation 4 was my second favourite, to be honest. I dunno, the European influence really stuck with me. The starters were great, music was fantastic, characters were interesting. Rowan > all.

I'm pretty sure the reason why Gen 4 gets so much hate is because of how slow D/P was (and some other minor things). Platinum and HG/SS are great.

I honestly hate it because of Team Galactic. What an uninspired piece of shit faction. Also I think the music is okay. Cynthia's theme is the only one that really jumped out at me.

Black and White easily has the best soundtrack I've heard in the entire series, from the trainers, to Team Plasma, to your rival (N), and the Elite 4. I'd argue it's the best Elite 4 theme in the game, with Hoenn being a close 2nd.

I think it suits Colress, for Ghetsis and N and the gym leader theme, I much prefer the B/W versions to their B/W2 versions

I have to admit Gen VI spoiled me a bit, I much prefer the 3D of that compared to the sprites

Everyone does. It still has a great soundtrack and story though (for a pokemanz game).

It seems like after B/W though, they're actually throwing stories into these, which is good.

Primarily pacing through areas, it often felt too railroaded. While a tiny bit just comes down to map design, most of it were the games' plot. Sinnoh easily has the best variety of environments, though. The snowy north of Sinnoh is one of my favorite areas of a region tbh.
