I played Halo 2 first then like a month later I bought Halo CE. I played the shit outta both until I got an Xbox 360 and Halo 3.

Campaign isnt as fun as H2

2v2 is great

Anything more than 4v4 on certain maps is completely Haram

(with the exception of course being blood gulch)

Seriously though. HCE isn't that great when nostalgia is removed from the equation.
Gameplay is clunky and stiff. The story isn't anything spectacular; it's more of the same "spoopy mysterious space stuff, kill alien bad guys, oh shit plot twist!, and blow stuff up".

Clunky and stiff? It's just completely fucked. Unbalanced weapons, terrible maps, bad physics... You can't even fall two meters without losing your fucking shields, and that's if you're lucky and you don't die outright.

Even the game mechanics were fucktarded. Oh, we have these big fucking suits that weigh megafucktons, but we can't take a tap to the back.

Halo 2 melee pre-patch was beyond pointless.

I mean, the only one I really enjoyed playing on was Boarding Action, just because I liked the concept, but I don't think it was a "good" map by any means...

Oh please. The weapon sandbox in Halo CE is a hell of a lot more balanced than Halo 2, 3 and Reach. With Halo CE you start off with weapons you can defend yourself with unlike Halo 2 and 3 which you start off with shit. If someone has a BR and you just have your starting weapons you are fucked. With Reach you have a decent chance with the pistol but the AR is still shit. The pistol in CE is stupidly godly but that game still does have a better weapon sandbox than what Halo 2, 3 and Reach has.
