It's stuff like Contra and older NES games that just absolutely stump me. Some N64 games too.

One reason I like dark souls so much despite its insane difficulty is because is somewhat feels like a Metroidvania style game, in regards to the atmosphere and the more methodical way of venturing through the world by finding what you need without realy being told exactly what to do.
