i'm still laughing about thatkingdom hearts 2
Kingdom hearts is like the shittiest franchise you could use in this argument. The only reason it's popular is because of disneyfags and people who played it when they were younger and can't seem to take off their nastogia goggles. That being said I don't think games from the 80's or 90's are even close to what we have now in terms of quality. Verb your inner hipster is showingObviously there's gems that stand the test of time but that goes for any artform (or form of media, if you're like secondclass)
I played Kingdom Hearts when I was like 5

that's the same exact logic you used against me, yes
Quote from: Verbatim on July 18, 2015, 01:26:20 AMthat's the same exact logic you used against me, yesnot really. It's just dumb to say that games are getting worse when they're objectively getting better. You give two video game choices (Super Metroid and KH2) to an 18 year old who, hypothetically, has never seen or played any video games before in his life, and he's going to make the same choice every time. Games are simply becoming more action packed and fun to play.

i bet he's one of those guys who got stuck in the vertical brinstar shaft and had to restart LOL
Quote from: Verbatim on July 19, 2015, 06:37:28 PMhave you played itI've beat it. It's hard at points, sure, but it's just not that fun or interesting of a game to play. I had to literally force myself to play it, it was so bland. I played it when I was 13 or so and going through my period of trying to play all of the classic games and watch all of the classic movies and all of that, just so I could have a general knowledge of pop culture. That's how I found amazing games like Final Fantasy and Zelda, and how I found boring games like Metroid and Super Mario.

I actually played Metroid Prime: Hunters first, when I was much younger than that, and then later played the original Metroid, Super Metroid, and Metroid Prime.
