it's changed a lot from 3 to reach and then to 4 so it's kind of all over the place but like i said it's just a feeling, i really do hope im wrong

Halo 5 is closer to what Halo was before Reach. 
Equal startings for players, map control, power weapon control, arena based.

Much more of a natural evolution than Reach and 4 were.

I'd actually be impressed if they stuck to their hype train and he did die off in some form.

Or this is the way I see it: at the end of H5 Chief disappears/is transported to another galaxy/meets with the remaining Forerunners and claims the mantle for humanity. Somehow everyone believes he's dead (again). H6 just as the Flood/Precursors comes back he returns with an army of something or fleet of something. Or maybe even not playing as him for half of the next game, and not even reveal him at all in marketing. Far fetched, I know.

This thought just popped into my head for the next game: Chief walking alone in the ruins of a desolate Forerunner city on a planet that fell to the Flood a hundred thousand years earlier. No allies by your side. As you explore it, visions and memories of Forerunners fighting the Flood appear kind of like the Cortana moments from Halo 3. You discover the truth about something...ok now I'm just rambling.

Maybe I've just had my standards lowered with all the dumb armour sets, but I think it'll look fine with the right set of colours

FOTUS is a fucking terrible helmet. It's worse than Hyabusa.

Air Assault actually looks like a helmet, and greatly resembles Halo 2's ODST helmet.
