They're adding new items to REQ packs for 6 months after launch. Armour being some of those items

Ah, makes sense, people wouldn't want to bother if they were new silly designs, which it seems 343i are only capable of making, masterfully though.

Recon has basically stayed the same since 3.

The armor in general has changed shape greatly over the games. The helmet stayed pretty much the same in Reach, changes were pretty minor; in Halo 4 they altered the shape more(343i has some habit of making puffy cheeks on their helmet revisions) and it became more rounded and stuff.

Kinda sucks that they scrapped the idea of it being angular pretty completely, originally I think it was supposed to be influenced by stealth fighter/bomber designs since its OG description talked about less of a silhouette on radar and less radiation emission(hence the vent-looking thing on the chest).

So, the ones I crossed out aren't new, not really sure why they were up there tbh. Enforcer helm was pretty good though. Did they fix Centurion from the H2A version that had so many holes in the model it looked like the armor was floating around the player? I was disappointed about that since it actually looked good at first.

From the small pics the ones you listed don't look bad, but again small pics. Athlon looks like someone who had their face flattened from an anvil falling on them, though. Reaper is also chubby cheeks incarnate. Hermes I cannot tell what that is.

Opinion. My point was there's a change over time that I didn't care for.

Reach still has the best looking armor

343 seems to have been very, very attentive when it came to community feedback following Halo 4's release. That being said, I'm shocked that they didn't try to fix their helmet designs, a lot of these are just the recycled, trash helmets from H4. I'm sure many more will become available through REQ packs (Where's my Mk.V?), but the Halo 4 helmets were, for the most part, awful.
