I mean she could have been executed better definitely but I don't think cliché is the word you're looking for.

It's cliche because it's something you see in other media all the time.

A character is introduced (Librarian) and spends the next 5-10 minutes dumping all sorts of information on what's happening to the main character(Chief) about the antagonist (Didact) and what his plans are. The Librarian is not seen again throughout the whole game except in this cutscene.

It's a lazy and uninspiring way to tell a story.

A prime example I can think of right now is when JK Simmons sits down with that lawyer chick in The Accountant and he tells her literally everything.

~Cortana will just disappear for literally no reason (Frankie will explain it in some text hidden in Waypoint's HTML code and it will make even less sense than cortana becoming an antagonist)

~The Didact is back but he get's killed offscreen half way through the first loading screen

~The story will be Evangelion 3.33 but every charachter is the Warden Eternal exept for Seargent Johnson who has come back to life and is king of The  Prometheans for some reason (again, this will be explained in the HTML code on Waypoint and will contradict all existing lore), and he's using them to infect planets with The Flood all while keeping a contingent of children to gun down for his enterntainment. But he's not a bad guy, you all just don't understand subtlety and nuance. Clearly it's Doctor Halsey who is the monster, and sicne the game is written by Karren Traviss it will be sure to remind you of this constantly, In fact the ONLY thing the characters ever say is "Docor Halsey is an evil Monster".

Not really. Halo 3 is light years better on MCC and if you care about halo 3 ranks in the year 2017, than you need to be lobotomised.

Only bonus is that you can play firefight now.

The hit detection for Halo 3 MCC is far worse than the OG version.
