One thing that just occurred to me is that John's dry sense of humor is gone from the game. I wonder if that was intentional.

Here's also mostly gone from the game too, so...thanks 343i. Don't believe 343i's lies: Yeah the campaign is split about 50/50.

Fucking gear specific req packs. The req system in itself is basically almost identical to Mass Effect 3's weapon packs.

Bronze, Silver, and Gold packs, while Mass Effect 3 went up to Platinum. But it also did something else. There were certain packs released into the game that had higher chances of unlocking certain things, like weapons, or characters, or gear.

The same system could easily be implemented into Galo 5. You like vehicles? Put out a req pack with higher chances of unlocking vehicles. You like cosmetics? Put a req pack in with higher chances and more unlock slots available. You like weapons? Req pack.

I mean it's half nice that they added a pack like that. But I really don't dig fucking random drop systems.

Also, in the timespan of when I posted that first message to now, my care rating for the game went from "hopefully constructive" to "fuck it I don't care this game is worth every ounce of my cynicism."

They made the forge and remixes public, sure.

But a short campaign and only four game modes weren't included in the advertising. In fact, I specifically remember them syaing the campaign was twice as long as 4's, and would take 8-12 hours to complete. Bull. Fucking. Shit.

Maybe if you do it on legendary solo while getting collectibles, sure. But most people don't go out of their way to do that.

The Didact's awakening in Halo 4 was pretty good.

But like all good things about Halo's story from Halo 4, it's all irrelevant to future stuff because Chris Schlerf wrote it and he went to work on Mass Effect Andromeda after that (Before leaving there for reasons unknown)

Maybe schlerf just likes moving to frachises that had a pretty good second installment but bombed on the third's story and tries to reinvigorate them for the fourth.

I'd probably add Warden Eternal, too.

He was established as being a pretty important character before launch and all he got demoted to was a cheap boss fight.

At least there was an actual fight for him (even if you only had to spam the Incineration cannon at him/stand on a platform he couldn't reach for the last one), but yeah. A pretty significant part of the Campaign was erroneously advertised.
