I can't play this game anymore, sure the multiplayer is fun but making this into a P2W game and making the campaign less fun and more frustrating and making the story mediocre is shit. I'm just gonna stick to the MCC collection, i swear if 343i repeats the same bullshit in Halo 6 i'm done, and i'm mostly not going to buy Halo 6 unless the fans or even AJ says Halo 6 is improved to Halo 5 and 4.

making this into a P2W game
Literally isn't

P2W means you can pay for an advantage. Buying REQs with real money doesn't give you any more of an advantage over people than someone who only uses REQ points to buy packs.

And the REQ level requirement prevents people from buying lots of REQ packs and spamming and having a game breaking advantage.

But the way you get stuff is bullshit in Halo 5, your bascily grinding a lot of REQ points to buy gold and hope you get decent weapons or armor, a lot of the time its pure shit that you don't want, few times it's fine, Halo Reach did it fine because your just earning credits by either doing multiplayer, campaign, firefight or doing challenges, hell even Halo 4 got it right by unlocking cool stuff without spending a dime and thats my lest favorite Halo game, what Halo 5 is doing is pure shit, also Micro transactions, it should never had micro transactions in Halo, and now it does. Also if your OK with this then that means your fine with Micro transactions with every AAA game?

So you agree that your previous post was pure bollox?

Halo Reach was significantly more of a grind than Halo 5. You get a shit load of REQ points for every match. You get free REQ packs all the time. It's not like you're doing a lot for little in return.
And what exactly dictates that Halo shouldn't have this system? Oh wait. There isn't anything that says that.
The REQ system is a fairly solid system. Easily the best microtransaction system. It isn't P2W at all, and the money goes towards the tournament prize pool, and is why we get free DLC.

So yeah, if games that do have microtransactions in it had the same system as Halo 5 or something similar, then I'd be okay with it.

Can I get some freakin armor? Dying for Mark V. I get the daily win packs every day, and also purchase a silver. In my experience at least armor has come up more frequently in silver than gold.

Solution: REQ store where you purchase what you want, only armor though.

lol, just looked it up. So technically it's the MK IV from Halo Wars...

It isn't 'technically' the MKIV variant utilised by Red and Omega Teams. It is that variant.

Today I finally hopped on H5 to try out the new Forge. Everything seems to be going swimmingly otherwise, except for one thing - the game freezes if I try to swap the daytime setting to "nighttime" on Glacier.
No other daytime setting on any map does this, but for some reason Nighttime on Glacier freezes my game and I need to reboot it.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah. It worked after a few tries for me.

I guess I'll just keep trying, in that case. Five tries in and no success yet.

So why is the story so bad? It's pretty disappointing with the whole manhunt thing and the predictable ending, but I can't say I thought it was downright awful. I have to admit that I know little about Halo's lore, so I can't comment on how accurate it is or anything like that. Story isn't great, but I was expecting much worse after how much criticism it's gotten.

Also, the legendary ending. What does it mean?

After a myriad of books and the entire advertising campaign revolving around TR-8R, it was more than disappointing. For many, this is another straw on the camel's back, so to speak, after some pretty awful comics and other bits by this writer. On top of all that, Halo 4's story was arguably the best the franchise has seen, so expectations were high going from there.

If you're only into the games, there's not really much to complain about. For the bigger lore fans, Halo 5 was generally bad at best, especially with it's predecessor and supporting material (The recent books have been fantastic at (re)introducing characters. Halo 5 did not do any of them justice.)

I could go more in depth if you want.

No Blue team background besides like a sentence from Locke.
Killed off Jul 'Mdama in the first level, making pretty much all of Spartan Ops and Escalation completely pointless.
The entirety of Halo 4's story has no impact because it's brushed off like nothing happened.
The Next 72 Hours arc from Escalation means nothing.
Didact was mentioned once.
Cortana's revival utterly destroyed all significance and impact of Halo 4's ending
What manhunt?
The Halo 2-tier ending.

The Sanghelios arc was pretty decent though. Meridian (the glassed planet) was pretty good too.

Also, the legendary ending. What does it mean?
Cortana has control of a Ring. Pretty clear.

Now here's the real question:
Can she activate the ring? You need a reclaimed, and she considers herself to be one, going as far as saying it was the Librarian's intent, but how true is that? Could her apparent control over the Domain let her activate the ring regardless?

Her view of the Mantle is skewed. Humanity are the inheritors.
I'm not sure about activating the Ring though. Even if she can't it won't exactly be difficult for her to kidnap someone using her galactic police force.

Let's not forget how the Janus Key arc very literally dissolved into thin air. You'd think it'd at the very least give some context as to how Halsey found out about Cortana's shenanigans before everyone, or told us how the soldiers started showing up. Hell, if we replaced the Google Chrome Contender AI with the Warden Eternal for some reason that would have contributed SOMETHING.

Palmer also changed in personality completely (albeit for the better), and no longer has a raging hate boner for Halsey.

Pretty shite payoff for something that took us all of Halo 4's post game and an entire comic series and then the mother fucking Absolute Record and Requiem being removed from existance to get to.

Yes but in Reach you grinded for armor. You didn't grind for the slight chance of getting a rocket launcher card to use in the next Warzone match. While if you don't, the guy who just spent $300 has about 15 launchers he'll be able to use.

Yes, it's a fairer system then we've seen other games implement, but it is still a pay to win system, of which does not belong in Halo.

The more and more I play the less and less fair the Req system seems to be.
It's 2016 and I still have no DMR, It feels harder and harder to earn Reqs and, WArzone games go to shit when too many people req a certain card, for example, in Warzone Assault the defenders will call in like 5 Scorpions at the core once and completely shut down the attackers, or in regular war Warzone ghost rushes obliterate your core before you can blink.
