Am I insane, or is Warzone giving out fewer REQ points for each match now?

Well, you see, it goes like this. Warzone gave more points than all the other playlists because of the carnage and kill count and commendations and shit.

But having a playlist give more xp than all the others is a no no.

So they dropped a hammer on it. And if that's not the case, then eventually it'll happen.

I accidentally ran over...4 guys in a game of warzone.

Never got booted.

So how does the betrayal / booting / penalty system work in this game? Last game I got the plasma caster, shot an enemy and somehow ended up killing two team mates that weren't visible where I was standing. Got booted instantly and haven't tried to play since. Are there penalties like in Reach? Any clue what the betrayal conditions are? Because that kind of sucked, I was top of the team and hadn't even died once when my team decided to melee rush a guy with a grenade stuck to his face.

It's...ugh, a bit of a mystery. So far in my playtime I've only ever been killed by teammates at least once. I play mainly in Warzone which limits betrayals to splatters only. But I did play my rounds of other various playlists.

I've accidentally splattered teammates before in warzone and never been booted. I don't know if they had the option to boot or no. I think most people in warzone are a little bit more forgiving since there's so much shit going on that if you're trying to run away in your ghost and a teammate just spawns in front of you or runs around a corner there's not much either of you can do about it.

Of course there's that one asshole who boots anyway.

Or that guy who goes into hulk smash mode depending on how many power weapons and energy he just lost to you.

I guess the general advice I can say is this.

Stay out of the main arena playlists because they're literally cancer. Including anybody that plays them.

Speaking of Warzone don't you love how your bases don't notify you that they're being captured until they've been captured?

Or that they only notify you on the HUD when you're practically standing inside of them?

I was doing sniper duty at the back of a map to watch out for stragglers, and I kept killing this one guy who tried to run back and capture a base behind the fortress close to our home base. I guess somebody snuck past me.

So I was not even a short walk across from the base I was watching, got my beam rifle, and then did a double take as the base right next to me was captured. Naturally I got spawned on top of within a couple nano seconds and lost all my fucking shit.

I think the booting is automated.

They're really fucking boring in Halo 5. I've played enough matches already that I'm sick to death of the br. It's the only fucking gun you ever see.

Played every CoD, played every Halo. That's what it feels like a lot of the time. Girlfriend hasn't played yet herself, but "looks like the new call of duty" was the second thing she said when she saw me playing. I suspected it when I saw gameplay ages ago and can confirm now that I've put a few hours into it. Feels less like Halo than even 4 did, which is saying something. Might be different if there was a normal arena gametype where you'd actually spawn with a BR or somthing, but that seems to be out of the question at the moment.

BR starts has nothing to do with anything. The only reason BR starts was a thing was because the weapon sandbox used to be incredibly shit and unbalanced up until Halo 5. The AR and pistol are actually good weapons now.

I just like those weapons. DMR, BR, Carbine and such have always caught my fancy. Nice, rhythmic, firing at a decent pace... They felt good and solid to use. AR is boring, pistol feels flimsy. Never liked either in any Halo game since CE. BR starts would make a lot things better, imo.

at this point people just love to bitch about the various abilities even though they've been properly implemented in a non-loadout based system.

I can't really say much, considering I didn't play Halo till early this year. But, I think Halo 5 is a good game, even compared to the others. I do miss the slower pace a bit, but I got over it. The thing I really miss is the level design. Bungie Halo games felt very open. Halo 5 feels more linear. The environments aren't as open. Though H5 was an improvement compared to H4 in that department.

The worst thing about H5 is the story. It's not bad, but not much happened. It felt like it was just a tease for Halo 6.
