I remember before Halo 4 was going to come out, 343i made a video showing off the Covenant weapons with the shittiest fucking "music" I have ever heard.

Now this video comes out and they continue that trend with this video. I mean, I'm not picking sides or anything here, but when Bungie would make a video of something to show off about Halo, they would use music from the Halo games because, you know, it actually makes sense and fits the atmosphere of Halo as it should.

This sort of shit isn't what I want from a Halo game. I don't want shitty dubstep, cringey humour, weapon skins and microtransactions. All I want is a cool military-sci-fi story with some of the Forerunner stuff thrown in, balanced multiplayer and a variety of fun custom options.

It sure is nice of 343 to be releasing those armor and weapon skins to make up for the lack of content...God this game is a fucking joke.

I loved the direction 343 was taking with Halo 4, but this legitamately has me concerned, especialy in regards to the story.

Sure the AI takover is a cool conceptual setting for future games and all, but it came out of left feild.

Why did 343 decide to abandon all of the build up they had with Halo 4, with the genesong, the Janus Key, the didact and the primordial's threat.
I didn't want to say this but Halo 5 feels like a completely different series than the rest.

It's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination outside of the story, but god, this isn't what I wanted at all.

I dont know that was actualy kinda silly in a good way. The same applies to most of the humor in halo 5

I guess it has to do with those being simple Easter eggs, while this is their official ad for the game content. And something about the ad seems...I don't know, pretty forced in comparison...

It's sad that the marketing for this game has a better story to it than what the game does, even the trailers have a better story to them. I think it's safe to say more effort went into the trailers than what went into the story for the game. I know the trailers for Bungie's Halo games look better than what the game is, but those aren't story based.

With Halo 5 we have two point of few trailers that are making a conflict look more serious than what it really is. The conflict that is in the game is nothing more than the Chief going AWOL. For the trailers it's as if the Chief was responsible for mass destruction and murder.

Then there's the trailer where the Chief is walking in a desert which is implying he's looking for Cortana while trying to hid himself. When it comes to the game we did not look for her once and we weren't hiding from anybody when we were playing as the Chief. It's as if those trailers are for Halo 6 or whatever due to how different the story in them and the game is. 

And while we're on the topic what the hell did make 343 go in such a strange fucking direction with the story? Even if we completely ignore Brian Reed's involvement, the overall narative of 4, 5, and was planned out before hand, but I find it so hard to belive that this was the direction they had always been planing to go in since Halo 4, especially since Halo 4 itself was so excellently written.
What happened to continuing John's development? Why have plot devices and threads form Halo 4 and the reclaimer trilogy been been seemingly erased from existence so suddenly? What purpose did focusing on Locke even serve?

It would have been so much better if Didact was manipulating Chief through visions of Cortana. Maybe even the Warden Eternal could have been a demented version of Cortana you fight, or somehow it would contain a rampant part of her, serving as the Digi-Didact's protector.

Then Halo 6 could go two ways, either the Didact has been under the influence of the Gravemind and activating the Guardians was just to weaken the Galaxy for the coming Flood assault. Or it is really him, and he teams up with every species to combat the Flood. If Didact is indeed being controlled by the Gravemind, then I would see having to seek Mendicant Bias out as an ally, who now fight against a former master again, Didact, but this time against the Flood. That would be beautiful! I'm so disappointed every time I think about what Halo 5's campaign could have been.
