Spartans literally are superheroes, and always have been. Just because they aren't Marvel or DC doesn't change anything.

Nobody even blinks when Captain America fights toe to to against some reality bending demigod bullshit with nothing bur a fucking Frisbee made of shit that doesn't even exist.

Numerous times in this site I've argued that comics break their canon powers and limits. It's called power creep, particularly concerning "peak human ability" characters like Batman and Cap. I completely understand that the new spartans are more agile and strong (see: power creep). But literally flying using little booster jets, crashing through a huge boulder, destroying forerunner soldier with a few bullets, throwing elites around like toys, and running down a snowy mountain with no trouble, it's just dumb. Why would the UNSC drop them on top of a mountain in the middle of a air and ground battle? Why were they briefed on the mission literally 10 seconds before jumping? Did Locke seriously get a comms check while flying uncontrolled towards a mountain?

The video was cool, but it's also pretty silly. It's hard to argue that their powers are canon, when we won't experience anything similar in gameplay. And of course, gameplay isn't canon, but it's really the only canon that matters since it's a video game. It's kind of shitty to tell players that your character is so fast and strong and powerful, and then give gameplay where we jog, hop short walls, and actually need more than a few bullets to kill shielded enemies. Sure Bungie underplayed their Spartans in the games, but it was a more consistent gameplay experience. Cheif never really does anything that you couldn't do in the game.

This is bottom of te barrel tier of things to dislike about 343. If you're going to hate them, at least think of better reasons.
