All of the Halos have their fair share of half-assery. Reach, for instance, has several places where they didn't bother rendering Terrain, visible in cutscenes, and in places easily accessible to the player. The scripted animation where a transport craft gets hit by a Corvette's weapon is also out of sync, as the explosion happens like half a second before the Plasma Torpedo even hits. There's probably some canon explanation for it, like radiant heat from the Torpedo causing the explosion, but it still looks wrong.

In my opinion, Halo 4's art style just looks bad, too.

Considering how 343 was understaffed the entire way through development/ still building their team, H4 is really well made.

Halo 5 will be the true test. New engine, full house, not just reskinning the vehicle models of another game.

Every game is that way.
You have to save money, find shortcuts and save time wherever you can. Plus working with ancient hardware is a factor.

That being said, Halo 4 is the best looking 360 game and pushed it far as possible.

I played Reach the other day.

I quickly went back to Halo 4. Not that it says too much. But good lord. The multiplayer in 4 was leagues better without a doubt in my mind.

I just wish 343 would rub off the god damn shiny art style. Everything just seems too bright.
