I've already unlocked Ness and Luigi, guess I'll go for Jigglypuff and Falcon now. It's non-difficulty specific for those two, right?

Technically speaking I only started unlocking characters after ~10 years of having it on Emulator. My Stepbrother unlocked the characters on that.

And I had it since it came out.....

10 years to not get 3-stocked on a Normal SP playthrough is a fair effort tbh

I finally fought and defeated Falcon, but when I turned the game off, he was gone. What the fuck.

Might be a faulty battery in the cartridge. Those games are getting up there in terms of age, after all.

I'm sure you could look up some replacement tutorials on YouTube or something, if you wanna go through the effort.

It might not be the battery, because all data should be erased when it goes.

Sometimes I'll have games lose all save files, and then see them restored the next time I boot up the game. Try a reset to see if Falcon reappears?

Okay, so, for some reason, Jigglypuff remained unlocked after I finished a match with her and resetted the console.

So if you ever unlock characters, play at least one match with them first to confirm unlock, I guess.

I just did a Classic Mode run with Fox and Falcon didn't unlock at the end. This is bullshit.

Man, all I want is Falcon. Ness and Luigi can fuck right off.

I don't like playing as him tbh. It's way too easy to get gimped in the Kirby/Polygon team battles and Falcon Punch is really hard to land.

If you can land Falcon Punch right it's devastating, though.

And his jump+B attack is sooo useful once you master the timing.

That's why I like Ganondorf in Melee - he's essentially a slower, but harder hitting and heavier Falcon.

I know he has good attacks, but he's just hard to play as for me right now, even though Gannondorf is one of my better characters in 4. Mario and Kirby are easiest for me against AI, and I've been improving as Link too, but I'm not used to the different sandbox yet.

On a side note, Link's Bomb confirm has so little reward in this game compared to 4.

Guess I'm just going to buy the Virtual Console version when my Wii-U comes in.
