Them being episodic means absolutely shit all. And yes, you can lose. There's fail states in every TellTale game. Not like that matters, because a game doesn't have to have fail states in order to be a game.
Fable 2 doesn't have fail states. Is that not a game?

Why the fuck do you give a fuck about these games? No one's making you play them, nor are they being made in such frequency that they choke out  all other attempts to make a non-point-and-click game. There is one company that consistently makes fairly high-profile point-and-click games to the fuck tons of other non-point-and-click games that are released on an almost daily basis. Why the fuck are you whining?

The sad part is that these so called "not-games" are higher quality than most of the "real games" that are put out these days.

I'll keep enjoying these "not-games".

They're more interactive movies than anything. Their games are no different than Dragon's Lair which is a interactive movie.

People appear to not take into account the puzzles and hub areas from Telltale games which are fully player controlled. Also, dialogue trees count as gameplay.

It's a point and click adventure game. And yes you can lose, it resets you back to a checkpoint. If you don't consider that losing, then every game is a motion comic.
