So I thought about this for like a minute and gave up when I realised the only game to come out in the past few years that I genuinely considered deserving of GOTY that I have also played was Titanfall 2 in 2016.

And also I haven't played enough games from <2000 to really make anything I think have any weight

He rocks shield and spear, I doubt he'd enjoy a quicker version of the game that rewards being aggressive. Knowing him though, he'd like it more just to be a cunt.
