I have always wanted to play it, but, there are spiders.

I can't cope with spiders, it's what killed Dragon Age and Skyrim for me (still hit level 80 in Skyrim though).

My question is, can you avoid them entirely, as in are they in like one cave or two caves that are side missions and completely avoidable?

Ugh. Gotta beat New Game + first, then the first DLC. So much work.

There's insectoid like creatures in the main game but they sort of resemble a hybrid between a beetle and a venus fly trap so idk if that makes it any better for you.

Well they were only introduced in the dlc so I'm pretty sure you can only find them in the area which is like the north/northeast section of Tameria(?) I don't know what that area is called

So your saying in the base Witcher 3 game with no DLC there are 0 spiders at any part

So no spiders AT ALL in the BASE game? Meaning there are absolutely zero. Insectoids are whatever, anything arachnid like is a deal breaker

No. Spider type enemies are only in Hearts Of Stone and even then they only constitute the minority of missions in the DLC.

These are in the base game however.

I'm a bit disappointed in the absurd costs for the grandmaster gear. 14k for the chest piece alone, and that's only one school. The rest are like 10k a piece totalling about 50k per school. I get that they're the best armour in the game but what's the point in crafting them if it takes every single contract and mission in Touissant to afford them?

I had the same problem with that Runestone guy in HoS. I ended up just not bothering because the time I was able to afford it I had done nearly everything in the expansion.
