I don't see anything wrong with adding a BR mode. And if you don't like the idea of skins and emotes... Don't buy them?

They did take away single player. Though the vast majority of people don't touch it anyways. And it's been awhile since COD had a good campaign.

It's been a common complaint that COD is the same old every year and now that they're adding something new, it's Battle Royale, the laziest, easiest shit they can tack on and make a shit load of money from

Did anyone actually watch the press conference

The Treyarch devs clearly care a lot about their games, which is impressive given that they're not really allowed to stray too far from the Call of Duty formula and it's been over 10 years. Activision is money hungry and Call of Duty is a cash-in franchise, but that doesn't mean there's nothing of value to be found.

honestly at this point Call of Duty is the least insulting franchise Activision is putting out.

With BLOPS III, it was Titanfall
Now it looks like Overwatch and Fortnite

The only bit of originality they had was Zombies which is now overloaded and boring

When I'm paying $6O dollars for a new game, I don't want to be playing something that came out last year

What are you buying this game for and why can't you just play Black Ops III for it

i didnt buy black ops 3 but the gameplay wasnt as solid and the pc port wasnt very good.

Blops 3 was not Titanfall and it was far from it actually. Advanced Warfare copied Titanfall and was the game that introduced advanced movement that had robots and mechs which was made by Sledgehammer.

Treyarch's Zombie modes are always made with care and are always fun to play. Their zombie modes aren't half-assed like Sledgehammer's and Infinity Ward's attempts at making Zombie modes.

Maybe my expectations are too high but what changes have actually propelled the franchise forward?

A lot of changes just streamlined the game into focusing on gunplay which isn’t even fun since time to kill is so low and every gun is pretty much the same

Lethal and tactical grenades are useless
Melee is useless
Map knowledge is useless

Specialists offer no change to the game except you get a few guaranteed kills every once in a while (although this apparently is fixed in BLOPS IIII)

As for zombies, I can tell they put a lot of effort into it but maybe not in the right places since now I feel like it’s overloaded with pointless busy work and easter eggs

Seems like every year, the a new mythos is being tacked on in an attempt to expand the universe when really it just adds to the bloat and carries no coherent plot line

Which would be fine if it was simple wave defense with a few easter eggs sprinkled in but it’s not
