Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The casual-pandering really started to rear its ugly head towards the end of the game's lifespan. The only remotely interesting things about Brawl nowadays are the sheer amount of content, and of course, the Subspace Emissary. But you had to actually play the game in order to access any of that. Numerous welcome additions to the series were plagued by an equal (or perhaps even greater) amount of follies and setbacks that make the game, at least in my opinion, the weakest in the series by far. Even when played at parties--its intended setting--the game still gets very stale very quickly. Thank god Smash 4 ended up being so much better, even without an overblown story mode.

Halo Reach. I couldn't understand what everyone was complaining about back when it first came out. After playing other games for a few months and coming back to it, I suddenly could see every flaw and stupid design decision.

The issues are that the game is easy, shorter, and more boring than the other Zelda games.

Sailing was monotonous, the Triforce quest is even more monotonous.

The HD release fixes all these issues.

Difficulty and length are kinda silly reasons to dislike a game, but all right. I never found the sailing monotonous--it was all about the excitement and anticipation that the sailing built up that made it work. I'm sure if you've played the game numerous times, it would get dull, but I mean, that's why I don't usually like to replay games too many times, or within a short period of time.

It's because of the game's whole theme of treating your fellow players like shit--and not in the fun, consensual way. The ability to invade players online, as well as the ability to drop misleading hints "for the lulz," all kind of ruin the experience for me. While it's true that I can just play offline, I don't think there's any real reason that I should have to just to enjoy the game. Especially considering you're forced to play as an ugly... thing if you go offline.

But yeah, nothing to do with the difficulty.

You can do everything offline that you can online minus invading and reading people's notes. You can be human off and online. You just start out undead.

It is, but I'm really having growing pains.
