Five Nights at Freddy's 4, the fourth game released in the popular horror series in less than a year, hit this summer. At the time, Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon assured fans there would not be a Five Nights at Freddy's 5. He's sticking to that, but he's revealed that the Freddy's series is not completely finished.

Rather than making another horror game, Cawthon's next title will be a role-playing game called FNAF World, the developer revealed in a post on the Five Nights at Freddy's 4 Steam page.

"It's very important for me to say again that there will NOT be a Five Nights at Freddy's 5," Cawthon's post reads. "The story is complete, and the Halloween update and new game will not add to it."

Instead, Cawthon decided he wanted to do more with the Freddy's characters "because they are so near and dear to my heart." He says that FNAF World will involve players forming a party using a full selection of characters from across the Freddy's series in multiple forms.

It's popular, it'll sell. Especially with that cult fanbase. When you think about it, 4-5 super popular games in one year is probably doing his wallet real good.

It's also obnoxious as fuck for the steam/gmod model porting community.

I have to wade through piles of those shit models on a daily basis to find something decent. It's almost as bad as the pony craze that took over a few years back where every day it was a new flood of the same garbage.
