I wouldn't count on it, but yeah, it was confirmed awhile ago that basically anything that could be described as a "character" has the potential to be in.

But yeah, again... I wouldn't count on Shrek.

I think I voted for him, actually. I would've liked to see him in the roster at some point, but there are other characters I'd rather see in the game (wishfully thinking, Big Boss/Solid Snake, Ratchet, Crash Bandicoot).

I was completely blindsided by Cloud when he was announced, which pissed me off, because I thought I scoured every single possibility there was--but of course, Cloud slipped my mind entirely. The one character I didn't think about.

I'd like to be surprised again, to be honest. I'd be okay if none of my guesses were correct.

But like, Cloud made me lose my shit, because FF is my favorite franchise along with Metroid. I don't think anyone can top him for me tbh.

Banjo Kazooie has a decent chance but I wouldn't be surprised or losing my shit over it, considering he was almost in Melee if MS didn't get the IP.

Only a Ridley reveal at this point would make me lose my shit.

What, this presentation? We don't know. The only indication we have is that the most recent Smash update on Wii U has 5 Mario "placeholder" slots for characters. Those are only there just because. We could get 5 characters between now and the end of next year, since they might give us a timeline at this presentation for the rest of the DLC schedule.

But again, I would expect more than 1 character other than Cloud to be present at this. They wouldn't make it one stream just for Cloud and one other dude (I'm assuming Wolf and maybe Inklings at this point).
