Far Cry 4, do I get it?

Far Cry 3 was one of my favorite games of last generation, I loved the gameplay and the story.

I've heard mixed reviews on Far Cry 4, a lot saying it's gameplay is the same and the story is sub par,

Though, if the story is decent and the gameplay is a more refined Far Cry 3, then I'd be interested. That being said, tell me what you guys think about it.

And, does this game contain animals that will make me fear any body of water again

I have been playing the ever living heck out of it. The world is richly detailed and it is oh so easy to get lost in. People say that it is a lot like Far Cry 3, and that is true. But that is soooooo not a bad thing! The story is...Eh as of now. The main villain is underused and it sets you out to kill these supposedly high ranking people, but you have no idea who they are. It pretty much has the same problems as AC Unity's story.

You just keep thinking "uh who are you?'

The game contains a VAST amount of animal life. Eagles attack, Honey Badgers, Crocs, and these demon fish things that are just terrifying to look at.

Also, god damnit. Far Cry 3 is what made me terrified of water in video games. Fucking Crocs...

Sorta like a Piranha. But much bigger.

The gameplay is very similar, to a T. However you will always have the parachute and wing suit if you buy it right off the bat. There are certain areas that make the game more "tactical feeling" and that is when you are trying to take over fortresses. They are pretty much strongholds on crack. The Arena is a blast to play in, and the campaing missions feature this balance of power structure.

You choose between two peoples ideas, and the missions will be very different. It looks like they brought over even more stuff from Far Cry 2 such as the sleeping thing to change time of day, and the alternate missions.

The biggest thing that I enjoy, is that your bases can be counterattacked.

Also a big surprise is the MP. Co-Op is a blast, and PvP is awesome! It pits a team with typical weapons against ones that use bows. Its actually not as unbalanced as it sounds. Unless you happen to have two different types of grenade launchers and happen to be me...

Yeah, you don't really play Far Cry for the plot, you play it to have a blast killing stuff. It's a fun game but don't expect Shakespeare-level storytelling.

Get it. Seriously. Co op alone is worth the full price of the game.

As for this "BTU IDS JUSD FUR CREH 3" complaint going around, yes, the gunplay is very similar. If its not broke, don't fix it. I'm not sure what people were expecting. You don't completely rip out the old system and replace it with a whole new one when the old system was working perfectly.
