Fallout 4 mods cancelled for PS4

TLDR sony are dicks and neither Fallout or Skyrim will get mods for PS4 until further notice.

I pretty much play my Xbox exclusively these days, I'm keeping my PS for its single player games though

That sucks for those interested. I never cared. It's way too limited on consoles. I'm surprised Sony is being like this when they've been so open with Independent developers and supporting Cross-Platform play since PS2.

It was pretty obvious mods weren't gonna be on PS4 when they didn't get released after Far Harbor came out like they did for Xbox.

I also had a feeling they weren't gonna be for Skyrim Remastered either. Just look at how long it took the DLC for that game to get released for PS3.

I play Overwatch,destiny, and shit like that on Xbox because I have more friends there and it's more stable than psn (in my experience)

I still want God of war, the last guardian, horizon: ZD tho

I don't understand how Playstation has managed to fuck up this bad though. They had a strong start this generation (though not by any particular winning products or servuced themselves, just microsoft's colossal failures seeting the bar very low) but their seeming refusal on backwards compatibility, mods and crossplay isn't gonna be good for them if they carry on like this. I'm not sure how they even managed to fail like they have been doing.

This. Just buy whichever console you prefer. I have both. But Sony has the better exclusives, as always. (IMO) With most Xbox exclusives gone... Well. Buy a PS4 because of the exclusives, or friends. Or buy the X1 because of friends. I'm very disappointed with MS as far as exclusives go. The fact that most of them are going to be on PC makes it even worse. Unfortunately, looks like Sony is going the same route.

It's been a thing where Microsoft had a shitty console launch and Sony had an amazing one

and ever since then they've been going in opposite directions, with MS improving theirs, and Sony only hurting their own.

/r/PS4 initially blames Bethesda and wonders why they didn't accept some restrictive terms to allow mods, until some smart folk pointed out mods would have been useless if they were (rumours of a 900MB limit compared to XB1's 2GB,soon to be increased).

As for myself, it's a meh point. It wasn't a factor on buying it for PS4, but I'm disappointed how it's been promised for so long only to be left in limbo for a year and then scrapped. You'd think they'd have it organised ready by release rather than announcing it and then working the details out later.

iirc you also couldn't add new sounds or textures via modding too
