It's up to you. Play however you want.
Well at least keep them on you, some quests will be like "heal x with this swab of alcohol (requires 1 bottle of beer)"
Verb.Just remember that you made Moriarty money by selling him those cigarrettes. Because he just sold them to someone else for a higher price.GG

I don't get why people are giving verb shit for not using drugs or alcohol. I didn't use them either and I got through the game just fine.

It's Moriarty. He's that Irish bastard that maintains the stereotype by running a bar and promoting all manner of debauchery. (and also somehow survived the worse post-apocalyptic life in Ireland, and travelled all the way to the East Coast...)I'll bet if he was a real character (rather than an NPC strictly following some scripts), he'd sell them off for twice as much to one of the dregs in his pub. You know the quest with him to find your father, did you pay him straight off for the info or not?
It would be funny to see you play as a Bad Karma character, I've a feeling you'd squirm the whole way through it.It's not even about the drugs thing, it's just purposely limiting your playstyle. Eh, carry on.
Anyone else find it hard to believe that he just leaves stocks of Med-X lying around and doesn't sell it?

Eh, carry on.I wouldn't say I'm doing that. The way I look at it is this--the game is all about choice. You can do whatever you want, as long as you're mindful of the consequences. And since the game is just chock-full of shit to do, it really lets each player have his or her own little experience with the game, and no two people are gonna have the same playthrough. Not even close.I appreciate that the game gives me the choice not to use drugs, instead of making them a necessary component of the game. The fact that they give you that choice, to me makes me feel more enriched, not less. Because I'm given the opportunity to play as myself, rather than being told that I can't have fun unless I do x thing. That's probably the best part of the game, so far, if not the best thing about RPGs in general. So since the game allows you to express yourself, which is a very beautiful thing, it would be more limiting not to express myself, or to play the game in a way that I don't actually believe in.
