Title change: Tranquility Lane

I thought I'd wrap up Scientific Pursuits, now that I've closed the gap between Vault 112 and RobCo.

Now I'm in this strange VR simulation--I'm sure you guys remember this chapter very well.

They're really gonna make me make Timmy cry?... All right, I guess.

I activated the Failsafe thing, and all it allows me to do is kill everyone by running a military simulation.
Which will, somehow, kill everyone in real life, too--not just in the simulation.

the game has been pretty fun so far, and i haven't used a single addictive chem--and they're clearly not necessary for you to proceed at all, sooo

go fuck yourself

Okay, I found a military school brochure on the kitchen table in Timmy's house. He cried when I showed it to him. Good, I thought I was gonna have to resort to punching him or something, and I would've felt bad about that.

I still lost karma for it, though. FUCK. That's the first time I've lost karma this whole playthrough.

I guess it was unavoidable.

Now the guy (posing as a little girl in the VR sim) wants me to split a couple up.

God. My karma level's gonna go down the shitter at this rate. Is there any way out of this?...

Find the hidden terminal inside one of the houses. I forget which one it is.

There's items in the house like a pitcher and other furniture that you click on and it makes a sound. If you press A in a specific pattern, a hidden terminal will open up that you can use.

Activate the Chinese Military option and then you will be able to leave the simulation.

...

okay, first of all, i already explained that i activated the failsafe by myself, and i said only three or four replies ago that i was not going to activate the chinese military option, because that's going to kill everyone

second of all, i've established 850 replies ago that i don't actually want answers to any of the questions that i ask
i can figure this stuff out myself, thank you

the reason i ask the questions is just to show people where i'm at and what i'm currently trying to figure out
i want absolutely no answers from anyone unless i explicitly state so

Who the fuck cares about those people. They're not important at all to the game.

But who am I kidding. Stay in Tranquility Lane forever if that's what you want.

you realize the game is literally built so that you can be a good guy or a bad guy, right

some players like to be good guys
some players like to be bad guys

i want to be a good guy--it's not complicated

If you activate the failsafe literally nothing will happen to your Karma.

And the Karma you did lose by helping that little cunt you can always get back by giving 20 water bottles to people outside of towns.

hey
Pretty sure the failsafe isn't the only way to progress through that quest, but ok

Spoiler for the quest
I think activating the failsafe is the more moral option however

Jono, just stop. You're literally ruining Verb's BLIND experience of the game. Let him play like he wants to, like holy shit.

it's the idea that i'm killing people unnecessarily that i don't like

i always thought the water bottle mechanic was stupid, so i just pretend it doesn't exist
it completely nullifies the karma system

For your information, I was the Jesus Christ of the wastes in my F3 playthrough but I could turn into Diablo real quick whenever the moment allowed for it.

Sometimes, in some playthroughs of F3...I would blow up Megaton, go into a killing spree in Rivet City...annihilated Big Town, and... exterminated the Outcast for their tech.

woooo
