I've not heard anything good about Legends so I can't say I'm too disappointed - Lionhead seems to have generally gone on a downward spiral anyway. It's not surprising.

Damn. Feel bad for those developers.

Looking at it from a consumer standpoint, Microsoft was pushing the shit out of Fable: Legends the past few years, and it looked generic as all hell to me.

I couldn't help but feel a bit of my childhood die as I read it. If only they made a real Fable game again they might have survived.

Granted, most of E3 '15 and 14 for me was Halo 5 and MCC hype.

And just to be clear. Even though it is most likely dead at this point Lionhead is just in talks for complete shutdown, it is not a done deal yet.

Right? I would have considered Fable 4. But this Legends thing always looked like hot garbage.

Ensemble wasn't shut down. It was split into two different companies. The people who wanted to continue with RTS games stayed at one and the people who wanted to work on other genres went to the other.

Does making the best console RTS have much weight behind it? I can see with the PC since they are far more popular but when it comes to consoles hardly anybody makes them. To me making the best RTS game for a console doesn't seem to be that big of an achievement when there's hardly any RTS games for consoles. Also if Halo Wars was a PC game would it do well compared to what's out there for that system?

Limited sympathy for them tbh. Fable III was an absolute abomination of a game and Legends looked like it was going to replicate the same casual formula.

They were shut down even before HW launched, so its sales figures mean jack all to their closure.
