Since there's only one company making a console what's keeping them from having a price like what the PS3 was originally? There's also no incentive for them to improve its services. The only reason why MS is doing Games For Good is because of Sony having theirs. If there was a monopoly there wouldn't have been any reason for MS to do that. Monopolies are not a good thing.

Having high prices due to there being no price wars or no incentive to lower it is a bad thing. The price for gas wouldn't be so high if these companies weren't having a monopoly with each other. Like I said above there would also be no incentive to improve things for the people using it to get the most out of what they're paying for.

Standard Oil was a monopoly because they undercut their competitors.  Everyone benefited from cheap gas and investors were happy.

Just sayin, instead of buying a $400-500 console you could have bought a second computer to use for web related activities and used a better computer as a media hub in your living room.

I typed up a big ass response and then my phone borked so I'll keep it short this time. The PC in the living room just isn't the same entertainment experience as a console. Friends can't come over and play split screen or bring a game and Pop it in and play. A PC and a console just don't give you the same living room experience. I'm no knocking PC gaming I'm just saying as of right now the two are more different than people let on

I've done it before and it's not ridiculous lengths, rather easy actually.

What about them is retarded? Steam gets the majority of console games and it offers PC exclusives so you're not missing out much. Since it's a console based PC you can play it just a like a console and it's able to be upgraded. I say having a console based PC is a good thing to have if you want a gaming PC and you're used to consoles. What makes it even better is that the online is free and there might even be mod support. Even without mod support you still have free online which is something consoles don't have.

Usually when people get PC's to game on they're for gaming. If you're that worried about that happening then get a cheap laptop for around $200. Nobody is stopping you from getting a second computer.
